William H. Corgan began his legal career working as a law clerk in 1990 for his uncle, George Emershaw at the law firm of Emershaw, Mushkat & Schneier. Starting as a Gofor, he went on to work that focused on personal injury litigation including reviewing medical records for injuries, and assisting in case investigations, trial preparation and support. ... While doing that, he attended The University of Akron and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and then continued at Akron for his law degree. After graduating from the University of Akron School of Law in 2001, Corgan became “of counsel” at Emershaw’s firm.
In addition to personal injury law, Corgan went on to represent individuals and small businesses in the areas of Criminal Defense, Foreclosures, Wills and Estate planning, Probate, Business Law, Property, Contracts, Entertainment Law, Eminent Domain, Storm Water Runoff, Defamation and matters before the State Medical, Nursing, Election Boards, as well as The Ohio Civil Rights Commission.
He has been licensed in Ohio since 2001. Corgan has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He is a member of the Akron Bar Association and currently serves as co-chair on its Solo and Small Business section. He is also serving as President of the Summit County Association for Justice.
Corgan is also a musician and songwriter playing bass guitar and the five-string banjo. He has managed his own band, which included booking nationwide tours, marketing, and copyright filing. He likes working with his hands whether it be on his car or home appliances, or home repair.
He is married to fellow Akron attorney Jacquenette S. Corgan.
